Dora Lopez
Co-Founder/Co-Director
Dora Lopez graduated in 2008 from La Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. Dora currently works as a Family and Community Engagement Liaison for the Hillsboro School District.
She is a Mixteco/Ñuu Savi culture keeper. Born in San Miguel el Grande, Oaxaca, Mexico. Lopez celebrates her heritage with a group of more than 50 local Oaxacan women who gather regularly to speak their indigenous Mixtec language.
Esmeralda Flores
Co-Founder/Co-Director
Esmeralda Flores was born in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Washington County throughout Hillsboro, Aloha, and Beaverton. She currently resides in Beaverton. She is a first-generation college graduate of Oregon State University who double majored in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Sociology. Her parents migrated from Oaxaca, Mexico from la region Mixteco, she is very proud of her Mixteco/Ñuu Savi indigenous roots.
Adán Merecias

Adán Merecias is a Mixteco/Ñuu Savi who was born in Villa Guadalupe Victoria, San Miguel el Grande, Oaxaca. He moved the to the United States when he was 10 years old. Adán used to dance el Jarabe Mixteco when he was young in Mexico and hopes to teach his daughter Ita N'dee about her Ñuu Savi roots, traditions, and culture. Adán graduated from Portland State University in 2009 with a Bachelors Degree in Public Health.
